Titanium clad steel plate is a material made by laminating a titanium plate with a steel plate. Titanium clad has excellent corrosion resistance, but is expensive and can be made into composite plates to greatly reduce costs. Usually made by explosive crimping, in recent years began to use the hot rolling method of production. The joint surface of titanium and steel at high temperatures is prone to the formation of TiC, titanium-iron solid solution phase and intermetallic compounds (TiFe, TiFe2, etc.), causing embrittlement of the steel plate.
